An Amazing story!! Letter from Gypsie

Hey girl,
Do you ever watch the Bonnie Hunt show? Do you even get it in Canada or Mexico??? Anyway, I went online this morning and submitted the following in their "do you have an amazing story to share on our show" category. Let's see if they call us to be on the show. Wouldn't THAT be cool!! I'll let you know what I hear.
Hugs!!! Gypsie

With the urging of my husband, at the age of 46 I learned to ride my own motorcycle.
As part of a ladies online riding forum (Women Who Ride) I "met" another lady rider who lives in Canada but was buying a motorcycle from a couple in Hudson Florida. While trying to figure out how to ship it home, someone on the ladies forum suggested she fly to Hudson from Vancouver Island, BC and DRIVE it home and that the ladies on the forum would escort her across the country.
The idea took off like wildfire and before long the "Conga" line was formed. Lady riders (and a few men) from across the country escorted her state by state from Florida, through Georgia, North Carolina (slaying the famous Dragons Tail), Tennessee, Mississippi, Lousiana, Texas.... you get the idea. Over 5000 miles and almost 3 weeks!! She turned it into a small benefit fundraiser for the family of a friend who died of cancer. A couple of months ago she decided to do it again. The same couple she bought the motorcycle from last year (Jerry and Donna Palladino owners of Ride Like A Pro www.ridelikeapro.com) have another one for sale and, you guessed it, she's flying in to buy it and the Conga II Reunion is on. Tanis Fuhr, from Vancouver Island, BC will be leaving Hudson Florida on May 10th heading north to Milwaukee and then across the northern states into Canada and home. Again, she is being escorted all the way by lady riders (and of course a few men along the way). Why is this such an incredible story??
First, although it's growing in enthusiasm, women riders make up only 12% of the motorcycle riding population. Second, these are people who had mostly never met each other before last year's Conga. We were only "friends" through an online forum but obviously with a very strong connection.
Last but not least, this year's Conga has a special meaning. We are using it to raise awareness, not only of lady riders but of something near and dear to ladies in general - Breast Cancer. Tanis (aka "Flo"), myself and the ladies of Women Who Ride have set a goal of raising $10,000 for breast cancer research. We feel like appearing on your show would give us the opportunity to show people that ladies who ride motorcycles are everyday women. We are moms, business owners, nurses, politicians, actors, you name it. But more importantly to raise awareness for a cause that I know you too support. Breast Cancer Awareness and the hope for a cure!!! You can read about it on the forum - http://forums.delphiforums.com/Conga2/start or on Flo's Blog at http://flo-conga2reunion.blogspot.com/
