Behind the Scenes of the Conga

I am just amazed everyday how people just keep jumping in with more ideas. This is what is going on right now, so we will see how it unrolls.
Since this is a second run for the Conga, it proves more ‘staying’ power, so folks like Leno might take another glance at it if it looks like a durable event.
What do you think of a full-blown web page, not just a blog or forum site? I think we may need a little legal intervention if we go public like this, but it is something a very nice atty might do pro bono, or want to write off as a donation for things like ride waivers, international donation legalese, etc. But the web would be a place for documents of that nature, and if we get a SPOT (the little tracking transponders) donated for the tour, we could incorporate it into the site to show our progress. Plus, we could set up a Café Press site within it for merchandise, a full gallery for images and video, etc. We could even set up an online registration (would take a little tweaking, but can be done).
So you rode in circles with actor Pepper? Very nice! The only ‘star’ I met was Alan Cesse of Star Touring and Riding, and I didn’t even realize with whom I was speaking until another chapter’s president’s wife told me it was the founder and president of the International organization.
Pencil Nathan and me in on the list – it looks very, very promising, but don’t know 100% for sure yet. I think we might do the Dragon this summer, but if we do, it will be on the big family holiday to NC, and will be on bike rentals. That’s in early June, if I remember correctly.
Well, let me know about the website.. I can draft something up if you’d like. Not that I’m great at it, but I can get one running and maintained (www.warrenphotographicsociety.com is my camera club’s page I set up). How does www.pinkribbonconga.com sound? J
I’ll work on a list of female riders who hold star or celebrity status and see if we can solicit their backing or support. The only one I can think of off the top of my head it Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy). Who knows, we may just hit the right person and have a celebrity ride-in!
