We are now in Twin Falls, Idaho, its 3 in the afternoon, and we just made our first stop at Snake Harley Davidson dealership. They really had nice friendly staff in there. I had a hard time containing myself of buying anything, but I managed. Rob bought a couple t-shirts. Of course I had to sit on a few bikes. Especially the Electra Glide like the one we are buying from Motorman. Just to get the feel and the fit! Holy shit, the first fear just set in. I couldn’t get it off the kick stand. It is really high and heavy L I started having flash backs of the balance problem I had when I got the Queen. I am thinking most definitely it is going to have to be lowered. I think I will have to lift a few weights down in Mexico an walk off a few lbs so Motorman doesn’t suggest taking the electric carving knife to my thighs again. It really did seem heavier than the Queen.
Of course I couldn’t leave the dealership without bragging about the Palladino’s Ride Like a Pro. I asked the Sales Manager if he had heard of them. He said that sure sounded familiar so I told him to look it up on the internet when he had time and maybe buy a video so he could recommend it to riders. I told him about Doc and Marianne and baby biker how small they were and how they could whip those big bikes around. I also told him that I was going back down there to be certified as a RLAP instructor and would be joining in on the demonstrations they give at different Harley Dealerships. He was pretty impressed and wrote the address down and said he would get right on that. Please tell them Flo from Ride Like a Pro sent you and you will get $5 off. I also told him to look us up on you tube; he would have a great way to pass the afternoon if he got bored. Thinking about it now I sure wish I had brought some DVD’s.
It is sure cold here in Twin Falls right now. So far the roads are okay again but it looks like it could change at any minute.
The drive is going pretty good really, I am quite content so long as we can get out once in awhile and do a walk about. I find it awesome sitting here with the computer blogging. Then I just have to copy and paste it into my blog when we get to the hotel.
When I am not blogging I am writing my book. I am actually doing it! I have been writing 5,000 words a day. I think that is pretty good really. I actually read a fair bit of it to Rob to ask him if it would keep anyone interested. I haven’t even got to the Conga yet. But I am awfully damn close. He said it was interesting, and… believe me he would say yes just to make me feel good. It was on the part where I almost died or thought I was going to in Dead Mans Flat 2006
That is kind of funny my two non favorite places. Dead Mans Flat and Death Valley. Do you think I should maybe take the names to heart and avoid places with Dead and Death?
Later: The weather is weird, sunshine, snow storm, ice, and then clear roads. It changes by the minute.
It can't be THAT difficult! Can it????
