We left Courtenay at 5am headed to Nanaimo to meet Draggie, she insisted she wanted to give me a hug before we headed south for the winter. We were to stop at Timmies for coffee before going to the ferry. About 15 minutes down the road I remembered I forgot my damn purse at my girlfriends back in Courtenay. Shit, we had to turn around and go back. Off to a not so very good start, we headed down the highway again. Within minutes I was sleeping. It seemed like about five minutes when I woke up and we were pulling into Timmes.
There was no Dragon hanging around so we went in for a cup of coffee. Rob asked me what she drives when she is not in her bike. I told him I didn’t know, all she says is it’s my 80 dollar car. Time was getting close so we decide to call her cell to see if all was okay and she was still coming. All of a sudden lights were coming our way, and the sound of a freaking motorcycle.. Good Lord, she road her bike, it wasn’t even light out yet. Right behind her was Slyboy.. We started laughing our heads off, only a Dragon and her buddy would ride their motorcycle at this time of the friggin morning.
It just reminded me of the second time I ever saw Draggie and that was on the Conga in Oregon... Blasting her way through rain hail sleet and snow on her bike... Too funny it is almost like the Conga II is starting especially by looking at these pictures. Only one thing wrong… I wasn’t riding!!
We had about a fifteen minute visit before it was time to head to the ferry. Hugs all around were given. I thought to myself what a gal?? Sure was nice to see those two smiling faces this morning. Both electrified up with heated gloves and vests. It was changing the not so good beginning of the trip.
Off we rushed to the ferry and I look down at the clock in the truck and it say 7:37. I asked Rob what time is the ferry?? 7:45 he says, Oh great, we have 8 minutes to get there; I doubt very much it is going to happen. He picks up speed and when we got there we were the absolute last vehicle on the boat. We literally drove right on, seconds later the gate was going up. How cool is that?? That never happens in my life it is usually waiting a couple of hours. It would never have happened though if we weren't breaking the speed limit big time.
We went for the most pathetic breakfast ever on the ferry. It was totally disgusting, tasteless and expensive. One would think that eventually you would learn to not eat on the ferry.
I brought my laptop with me on the ferry even though there was no internet. I spent the hour and half cleaning out the pictures getting ride of ones I don’t need, sorting out the folders. It is clean as a whistle now. I wonder why the say clean as a whistle, what the hell does that mean? Anyway it is as clean as it can be for this old piece of junk without hardly any memory or those gigabyte thingies. It sure helps pass time away. That ferry ride was the fastest I can ever remember having. Because I can’t enter my blog with out the internet, I am thinking this is going to be the perfect way to get it done. Hell, I could probably get back to writing my book and have it done by the time we arrive in Mexico.
We are now in the truck driving toward my daughter’s house to spend the night before we head for the boarder. It has been a year almost since I saw my baby girl of 26 yrs old. She just called singing Feliz Navidad!! She is a happy girl this time of year spending money. My girl loves Christmas and we are having a little Christmas tonight!

I get to my daughters and take a couple of pictures. I then realize the battery is dieing. Great…I go and look in my entire luggage and there is no battery charger that can be seen. Seem I am off to another great start. This only means that I will have to buy myself a new camera as I doubt very much I can just buy a charger for the one I have, as it is a package deal. Sometimes I drive myself crazy!! But no point in sweating the small stuff, I can’t live without my camera. Maybe that is a hint to upgrade.
Just leaving Vancouver and it is pissing down rain. Apparently we are supposed to run into a snow storm later on today. Holy… A lunatic on a motorcycle just when peeling by us on his bike, I sure wouldn’t want to be him in this miserable cold rain storm. It wouldn’t surprise me if we saw him down the road in an accident they speed he was traveling. I know if it were me I would probably have to riding down the shoulder of the rode.
We are almost in Ellensburg and it is noon, we have a pretty good snow storm going on now. There is supposed to be a major snow storm over the passes. Over two feet of snow. Rob doesn’t seem to be too concerned. I would say it is good we got new tires on just before we left.
No sooner spoke and we have the police on the side of the road.. One vehicle is in the ditch on one side of the road and another flipped upside down on the other side of the road. It does not look good. People tend to forget you just don’t drive the same in the freaking snow. It is getting thicker and thicker as I type..
Later: We will be arriving in Yakima soon and I can’t stop thinking about the end of the Conga when I was with my bros and Dragon. Memories keep flooding my mind, hoping that it is a possibility that they would be at the end of the road this coming spring.
My how things have changed, we are now out of the snow, the sun is trying hard to break through.

It cleared up real good and is only crispy cold now. We stopped in Yakima for lunch, and to buy another freeking camera. How can I live with out the camera... Not! So almost $200 dollars later, I know had a camera.
we are in Oregon at Pendleton. We did a good 12 hours on the road and it is time to unwind, blog a little check the forum and it the hay. It is only 6:30 but feels like 10.
Just before we pulled into this place I said to Rob, I am going to take my big suitcase in. I have a sick feeling the charger is in there because it wouldnt fit in this little leather bag I have. Sure enough there the little wench was. I am not sure what I will do, but I think I just bought my daughters early birthday gift. Mind you anything can happen before then. Crikey I will probably loose it again before the Conga, so I am tucking this little treasure away to a safe place.

HA, had to start the Conga off right!!!! Yep you know me, dont matter what the weather, I will ride through it, and as I stated in my HOG story for a newbie rider of almost 3 years, that is pretty damn good. Hell cant let fear nor common sense hold me back!!! Glad things are going well so far for you and yes I made it to the bus station. No mail yet though. Will let you know when it does.
