Mexico

We left Wickenburg Arizona at 7am. It is starting to warm up but very overcast. The scenery is starting to look real Mexican. We should be to the boarder roughly around noon but traffic has been real backed up and we just found out why. There was a horrible motorcycle accident on the freeway. Police are everywhere and there is a motorcycle laying on it side on top of a flat deck.
We have been pushing it hard the last four days as we were suppose to pick up my brothers at the airport in Puerto Vallarta. Last night we called and the family is picking them up so it appears we will all arrive on the same day. At least we don’t have to drive like mad men any more. Knowing Rob though it will probably still be a 12 hour drive. I don’t get it sometimes really; we are on vacation after all why does it have to be a race to the finish. Oh well, at least I am getting some writing and reading done.
We have the GPS going all the time and it is telling us to go here and there and instead Rob goes there and here and we spend a lot of time doing u-turns and getting lost. Hmmm…I don’t really understand, maybe if he listened to it we wouldn’t get lost. I just keep telling myself it is part of the adventure and he is doing a better job that I could myself.
I managed to get on line last night and check on the Conga forum. It looks like we have a couple more people interested in riding for sure. A lot more t-shirts are being sold and the women are sending in the pictures of them wearing it. Seems people are finding the Conga forum by accident and jumping in. This is good and I think the ride is going to be huge. I talked to Gypsie a little and even though she will be moving in January she has offered her home to us again, and suggests we spend a couple days in her neighborhood as it is in the Deals Gap area. She told me it was important to spend a couple of days so as to not get too exhausted and we could rest a little. Also seeing as she doesn’t see us often and it would be nice for a longer visit. I think it is a great idea and being it is a reunion too, it is nice to stay at the same place at least one any way.
I also got to talk to Doc and it was really good hearing from her as usual. God that gal works hard and I am so damn proud of her. She says Lil Steph is doing really well with her riding skills and wants to join the Conga too. I really look forward to getting to know her better and riding with her because when I was there she didn’t even ride. Lil Steph is Tony’s girlfriend. Tony is Doc and Motorman’s son. Lil Steph works in the office for RLAP. She has done so well she will be riding in the demos.
We just stopped at our favorite rest stop Tucson Arizona Harley Davidson dealership. I couldn’t contain myself I had to buy a couple of shirts. Actually Rob ended up buying them and said Merry Christmas. It really is nice being a Harley owner, you can go Hog wild in the stores...lol The weather is starting to change now, it is getting warm. My feet are sweating in my boots and I just realized I will have to make another shop stop and get some sandals. And that I did.

Next stop the dreaded immigrations. It took over two hours and I always prepare myself to no sweat the small stuff. I wont be easy to be so patient, but worth it in the end. Rob on the other hand gets quite frustrated. He know a lot of spanish words but when it comes time to use them, they all go backwards and I have to step in. I was a long story and I won't bore you with the details, but again... for a guy who always has his ducks in a row, he had to sighn the truck over to me once again. I say just go with the flow and let happen what will happen.
